Flex Data Center is a Carrier Neutral Facility

Many data centers are owned by telecommunications providers, or "Carriers." Within carrier-owned facilities, often the only network to which colocation clients can connect is the network of the carrier that owns the facility. This severely limits the options, and often prevents clients from connecting to multiple networks for redundancy. When only a single network is available, there is no reason for the carrier to be price-competitive.

Because Flex Data Center is not a carrier, we have worked to ensure that multiple carriers are present and available to our customers at our facility. Multiple carriers have established points of presence (POPs) at our facility. Our list of carriers is as follows:

Access to Hundreds of Networks

In addition to the networks that have POPs at our facility, we have direct fiber connectivity to Northern Virginia's primary provider hubs and points of presence, including Equinix in Ashburn, VA, CoreSite in Reston, VA, and several other extremely well-connected facilities in the Northern Virginia and Washington, DC region.

Diverse Fiber Paths

In order to ensure that the facility and the networks providing service to the facility have no single points of failure, Flex Data Center has physically diverse fiber paths for true network redundancy. The majority of carriers at Flex Data Center have dual fiber paths into the building to ensure that nothing disrupts critical connectivity.
